Will Jessica or Phillip be the next American Idol?
The two finalists have a head-to-head battle for the most coveted crown as the American Idol for Season 11. Who will win and who will lose will be question to be answered in the season's finale. Actually, the two of them are already winners, it's just the question of who holds number 1 and number 2.
Let's have a look at their final performance.
There were three rounds given for the final two. Their song for round 1 was chosen by Simon Fuller who is one of the show's Creators and Executive Producers, their favorite song from their past performances for round two, and their final song will be their possible first single if they will be the next American Idol.
Round 1 :
Jessica wowed the audience with her beautiful rendition of Whitney Houston's 'I Have Nothing'. Her voice is so powerful. I really loved it. If I can cast a million votes I would do it for her.
Phillip sang his version of Simon Fuller's pick for him 'Stand by Me'.
Judge JLo said that Jessica and Phillip were "battle of opposites" and that "America has a tough job". I guess she was right. Randy thought Jessica won the round and after a break and a little prodding, JLo agreed.
Round 2 :
"The Prayer" was Jessica's favorite song of the season. She sang it beautifully. Her voice was so sweet, smooth and so wonderful. Phillips on the other hand sang his favorite " I'm Moving Out".
Steven voted for Jessica while JLo gave the round to Phillip. Randy called it a dead heat.
Round 3 :
Jessica sang " Change Nothing ". According to the judges, this isn't a good song for her. They didn't seem to like the pick and JLo said "Everything has to be you".
"Home" was the chosen piece for Phillip and he got thumbs up from the three judges. They like the song. Randy said "genius and brilliant" while Steven said that Phillip was perfect in his final performance. Phillips earned a standing ovation from the three judges as well as from the audience.
According to Fox News, Phillip Phillips outperformed Jessica Sanchez on their final performance. Based from the round three performance, it is no doubt that Phillip got the votes of the three judges. Jessica got the voice but the judges think the song didn't fit her.
Well, do you think the voters think the same too? I hope they will consider the real talent behind the girl. I bet for Jessica Sanchez not only because she is of Filipino descent but I really love the songs of Celine Dion, Whitney Houston and the like and to think that their songs are being sang by a girl with a powerful voice makes me really stand in awe.
I have a bad feeling for the season's finale but I hope Jessica will win. (^_^).
What's Next for Jessica Sanchez?
